Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes have both sent a message to Manchester United teammate Anthony Elanga after he was named among the youngsters nominated for the Golden Boy award.
Elanga is among the 40 players nominated for the Golden Boy award, which is an accolade run by Italian outlet Tuttosport. The winner is crowned by a number of journalists, who all vote across the year for the best under-21 player among Europe's top flights.
The shortlist initially began with a 100-player list in the summer, but two rounds of voting have seen it narrowed down to 40.
After the news about Elanga's nomination was confirmed, United posted a picture of the attacker on Instagram, congratulating him for being included. Club captain Maguire shared the post, writing: "Congrats mate", which led to Elanga replying: "Thankyou skip".
Fernandes also sent a message to the 20-year-old on social media, sharing the picture alongside the caption: "Congratulations kid". Elanga responded to the Portugal international, saying: "Thank you bro".
Reds forward Elanga is joined, of course, by some top young talents, including Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga and Jamal Musiala.
Elanga enjoyed an impressive breakout season last term under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, with the Sweden international making 27 appearances in all competitions, registering three goals and two assists. He also bagged a memorable goal away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
This season, the 20-year-old has made seven appearances for Erik ten Hag's side so far - with the youngster delivering an excellent performance in the 2-1 victory over Liverpool last month, which saw him record an assist against Jurgen Klopp's men.
The final 20 players for the last round of voting are set to be announced next month, with Elanga waiting to see if he makes the cut.
