Seventeen suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
EFCC made this known in a series of tweets on Monday.
The anti-graft agency said the suspects were arrested at their hideout in Benin City, Edo State, following actionable intelligence received by the Commission.
They were identified as Ebiechuwa Victory Ovie, Arebu Julius, John Uwague, Edward Asuelimhen, Onyeka Sunday, Kelvin Emmanuel, Osamuliamen Maxwell, Omorefe Osazee, Osrmudiamen Aganjele, Godday Osaretin, and Osayande Osariemen.
Others are Collins Edobor, Chukwuemeka Johnson, Destiny Enobokhare, Daniel Collins, Omofuma Godpower, and Progress Edoagu.
Laptops, phones and seven vehicles of different brands were different from them at the point of their arrest.
EFCC added that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
