The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has denied it doesn't aware its Governor Godwin Emefiele has been sacked.
Responding to questionings from The Nation, CBN's spokesperson Osita Nwanisobi said he read report of his purported sack in some media like everyone else.
He said: "I also heard the same way you heard it. Truthfully, to me I'm not aware of that development."
Other CBN staff also argued they are not aware of Emefiele's sack as widely reported.
However a bank staff validated to The Nation: "The Governor left to attend the World Economic Forum, WEF, in Davos, Switzerland shortly after the Monetary Policy Committee, MPC, briefing”.
Social media platforms were soaked with the purported sack of Emefiele as CBN Governor on Wednesday morning.
But contacts at the CBN and Presidential Villa where the purported sacked would have derived from all denied knowledge of the sack.
