Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated becoming the first person to reach 400 million followers on Instagram in his usual fashion as he thanked fans for their support.
The Manchester United superstar became the first user on the social media platform to hit the milestone earlier this month, having seen his fan base grow by a massive 163m over just five months.
The 37-year-old currently has 404m followers, the biggest following on the platform, putting him almost 100 million ahead of his nearest challenger Kylie Jenner, who has 309m.
And the Portuguese is far and away clear his long-time rival Lionel Messi, with the Paris Saint-Germain star sitting 96m behind Ronaldo.
And the United star is aiming to go even further, telling his followers he’s now aiming for half a billion followers in a video released on Monday as he celebrated his milestone with his historic celebration.
In the post, Ronaldo said: “Hi guys, 400 million. Wow, what a number. Now I can say Siuuu!
“Well it's fantastic, what a moment for me. Without you this wouldn't be possible. So from the bottom of my heart I have to say thank you. Keep going like that!
“I will share my life with you, all the things with you because you deserve it. So thank you very much. Let's do it for more 100 million, 200 million thank you guys!”
Ronaldo certainly seems to have a better grasp of Instagram after leaving fans baffled with a live video recently.
