Aisha Buhari: Why I Chose Nigerian Clinic Instead Of Travelling Abroad For Treatment

First Lady Aisha Buhari has explained her choice to receive treatment at a private clinic while she rejected the concept of going to London, UK after falling ill.

Aisha Buhari: Being Different, the First Lady narrated the state of Aso Rock Clinic at the time, In the book.

Hajo Sani, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Administration and Women Affairs, authored the book, that is a biography of the First Lady.

"Another problem that stirred controversy turned into her statement on nine October 2017, at a stakeholders meeting on Reproductive Maternal, Nutrition, Child Advocacy and Health and Nutrition (RMNCAHN) at the State House, Abuja, wherein she spoke about problems of national significance regarding healthcare services. She found it appalling that once she fell ill, she become suggested to tour to London for treatment, though she refused.

"Unluckily, the State House clinic at Aso Rock, had now no longer been functioning effectively to offer needed medical services to the first family and different government functionaries.

"It was on this note that she criticised the management of the clinic, including that the health centre did now no longer have the facilities to deal with patients. According to her, she needed to go to a private clinic after she found out that the X-ray machine of the State House clinic changed into now no longer working. She has been constant in caution politicians towards politicising the problems of health and woman empowerment," Sani wrote.

Aisha’s husband is presently receiving medical treatment in London.
