Ghana frontline employees may be the first to obtain the vaccine


Ghana has obtained the first shipment of coronavirus vaccines from Covax, UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO) have announced.


"We are delighted that Ghana has grow to be the first nation to obtain the coronavirus vaccines from the Covax facility," UNICEF, which ordered the shipment from Mumbai, announced in a joint statement with the World Health Organization (WHO).


Ghana frontline employees may be the first to obtain the vaccine.


Henrietta Fore, UNICEF Executive Director, "In the times ahead, frontline employees will start to obtain vaccines."


"The following phase in the combat towards this virus can begin, the ramping up of the biggest immunization campaign in history."


Thus far, Ghana has recorded 80,759 coronavirus cases and 582 deaths in the begin of the pandemic.
