The President Muhammadu Buhari has transferred the 2021 budget project for the Nigeria Police Trust Fund to the Senate for attention and passage.
The president’s request turned into contained in a letter, which accompanied the project, and examine at some point of plenary on Wednesday by Dr Ahmad Lawan, President of the Senate.
Muhammadu Buhari in the letter, stated the request became made pursuant to the provisions of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund Act which affords for funding thru a unique intervention fund.
The letter explain in part: "Pursuant to Sections 4,five and 21 of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund Establishment Act 2019, I ahead herewith the 2021 budget project of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for the type attention and passage through the Senate. The estimates of income and expenditure within the funds 2021 budget project, are steady with the statutory motive of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund terms of contributing funding via a unique intervention fund for: training and retraining of employees of the Nigeria Police Force to increase their talent and general improvement, overall performance and performance in the discharge in their obligations in addition to responsibilities."
"Acquisition of state of the artwork equipment, operational cars and different facilities to increase the capabilities of the employees of the Nigeria Police Force in dealing with operational equipment; production of police stations, barracks and different living facilities of employees of the Nigeria Police Force and their dependents, and acquisition of instructional substances and training equipment, in addition to procuring the cost of participation of employees of the Nigeria Police Force at seminars, conferences, and different talent acquisition courses."
