The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has warned Nigerians to live farfar from a faux app that says to assist hyperlink the National Identity Number (NIN) to SIM playing cards.
NIMC, in a Twitter submit on Monday, dissociated itself from the app.
The corporation claims the app is administered through fraudsters who use it to reap NIN and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
“The app became now no longer created via way of means of NIMC or the Federal Government of Nigeria. It is administered with the aid of using fraudsters who're presently harvesting humans’s NINs and BVNs via way of means of default,” NIMC said.
The Commission similarly cautioned human beings to guard their facts and forestall disclosing private records to unauthorised men and women or platforms.
Recall that final week, only a cell app released through NIMC may be used to hyperlink seven SIM playing cards to 1 NIN.
