Manchester United have had a bid rejected for Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile, according to reports in France.
The 19-year-old is a product of the club's youth academy and broke into the first team last season.
United continue to be linked with defenders despite MEN Sport understanding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy with his options in defence, although the United boss refused to rule out reinforcements to his back line earlier this month.
Telefoot report the youngster is wanted by the Reds who have seen an opening offer of €25million rejected by the Ligue 1 side.
New manager Niko Kovac is reportedly keen to keep the defender at the club and wants all offers to be rejected.
However, the report adds Monaco are open to a sale if United make an offer they cannot refuse. Furthermore, United are believed to be continuing negotiations over his transfer.
Elsewhere, reports in Spain claim United are one of three clubs interested in signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
The former Liverpool playmaker will return to Spain after winning the Champions League with Bayern Munich and is reportedly open to returning to England.
Marca claim United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all interested in signing the 28-year-old and have made enquiries over his availability this summer.
Barcelona are reported to be willing to allow him to leave for €80million and will also accept a loan offer for the Brazil international.
MEN Sport understands Coutinho is not a priority target and it's unlikely a former Liverpool player would be welcomed at Old Trafford.
