The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila; Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu; and the All Progressives Congress national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, have expressed sadness over the death of a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council in Lagos State, Chief Lanre Razak.
They described the death of the APC chieftain as a big loss to the state.
Razak, popularly called KLM, died on Saturday morning at the age of 74 after a brief illness.
Gbajabiamila, on Saturday, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, titled ‘Gbajabiamila mourns Chief Lanre Razak,’ said the death of the grass-roots politician would rob the state of his contributions and counsel.
He added, “As a grass roots politician, the innate qualities of KLM did not go unnoticed and this was responsible for his diligent handling of his responsibilities as a local government chairman, a commissioner in Lagos, as well as a member of the GAC.”
Also, Sanwo-Olu in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, described the deceased as a great politician, strong party man and advocate of programmes that impacted positively on the lives of the people.
The statement quoted the governor as saying, “He was a loyal party man and committed democrat, with a deep understanding of the state’s political landscape. He was an extremely loyal politician, who did his best for our party, the APC.”
Tinubu described the passing of Rasaq as a big loss to the state, according to Punch.
