Paul Pogba on verge of mega five-year Man Utd contract after making transfer U-turn

Manchester United are confident of announcing news of Pogba's contract extension at the end of the season

Paul Pogba is close to agreeing a new five-year Manchester United deal in a shock u-turn.

The midfielder's season had been a write off due to injury before the coronavirus lockdown but his form has been excellent since.

Pogba told the club he wanted to leave this time last season but has since had a change of heart and now sees his future at old Trafford.

And according to The Sun, Manchester United are confident of announcing news of Pogba's contract extension at the end of the season.

Solskjaer had started to plan for the future without him but the Norwegian has noticed a real change in attitude and form.

“I’ve been speaking more or less every day with Paul. He knows he wouldn’t be dropped," the Norwegian.

“When Paul plays like this, he wouldn’t be dropped from any team in the world France or Manchester United but he’s been out for a long, long time.

“There was a question mark before the game against Southampton but he felt ready for it, which was great, so now let’s see how he is.

“He’s been fantastic since the restart and brought a lot to the team.”

If Pogba does put pen to paper on a new deal it could mean that the club's transfer plans to sign Leicester's James Maddison and Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish are put on the back burner.

Sancho will only consider a move to Old Trafford this summer if the Red Devils can secure a Champions League berth

United are focused primarily on landing Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

Sancho will become a Manchester United player this summer, but only if Solskjaer can guide his team into the Champions League.

According to BILD, Sancho will only consider a move to Old Trafford this summer if the Red Devils can secure a Champions League berth.

Should they secure a top-four spot in the Premier League, then it would take an offer of £109m (€120m) to convince Dortmund to part with the winger.
